RONALDS GIGELIS has been singing in the cathedral choir since childhood under the guidance of organist and piano teacher Nellija Sarkane. He studied at Jānis Ivanovs Rēzekne Music School, excelling in piano. He further honed his skills at Jānis Ivanovs Rēzekne Music High School with Irina Kulakova, obtaining a secondary vocational education. At Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy, studying piano under Prof. Māris Žagars, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in education as a “Piano Teacher” with honors.
He also studied piano at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Lusia D’Annunzio” in Pescara, Italy, as part of the ERASMUS program under Prof. Fabrizio Simonelli, achieving excellence in specialization and chamber music. He holds a Master’s degree in business management and a qualification as a business institution manager from Turiba University.
Ronald is familiar with the S. Suzuki philosophy, having attended further education courses with Mary McCarthy, a lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and an expert of the European Suzuki Association. His skills have been further developed through piano masterclasses led by Prof. Juris Kalnciems, as well as Prof. Valdis Haralds Janciss (Latvia), Prof. Karl-Andreas Kolly (Switzerland), Prof. Vlad Dimulescu (Romania), Prof. Bruno Bizzarri (Italy), and other distinguished educators.
